Lyon Legal Services

Office Manager – Lyon Legal Services

Lyon Legal Services is an award-winning and growing regional law firm with offices in Inverell and Tamworth. We are well-regarded for our strong focus on Family Law, Criminal Law, Commercial Law, Wills and Estates, and Conveyancing.

This is an opportunity to step into a broad, business-critical leadership role at a well-established law firm known for its integrity, client care, and collaborative culture.

Our firm has regional strength and is expanding its reach across Northern NSW, yet our roots remain proudly local — built on long-term relationships, family values, and a genuine commitment to people, not just process. With a strong reputation in Family Law and Criminal Law, and growing practices across related areas, we combine professional standards with a supportive, down-to-earth working style.

We are now looking for an Office Manager / Practice Manager to work closely with our Directors and legal team across Inverell and Tamworth, helping to streamline operations, manage the firm’s financials, and ensure compliance with trust, regulatory, and professional obligations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, has strong business acumen, and wants to have a hands-on impact across the entire firm.

What’s on Offer

Join a values-led, family-style firm with a reputation for quality and care

A key leadership position with oversight of finance, systems, HR, and compliance

Direct access to Directors and influence over operational strategy

A supportive and stable culture with low staff turnover

Full autonomy to review and improve processes, systems, and reporting

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources: Recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, training, and performance management of administration staff

Operational Oversight: Managing day-to-day operations across both offices and supporting teams in Family Law, Criminal Law, Commercial, and Estate matters

Financial Management: Billing, budgets, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, profit and loss, cashflow reporting, and liaising with external accountants

Trust Accounting: Managing receipting, payments, end-of-month reconciliations, and compliance

Systems and IT: Managing equipment, facilities, and practice management systems (Smokeball, Xero), liaising with IT providers

Strategic Planning and Reporting: Fee earner reporting, workflow analysis, financial reporting, and contributing to firm-wide strategy

Vendor and Contract Management: Coordinating with suppliers, external advisers, and service providers

What You Bring

3–5+ years’ experience in legal practice management or professional services operations

Strong knowledge of finance and accounting (qualifications an advantage)

Excellent systems knowledge (Xero and Smokeball highly regarded)

A proactive, hands-on approach – comfortable with both big picture planning and detail execution

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence positive change

Confidence working directly with firm leaders in a fast-paced environment

Why Join Lyon Legal Services
